People's Landscapes

Sat 13 July – Sun 29 September

Daily 10.30am – 5pm

The films will be shown at both Quarry Bank & Dunham Massey

Admission fees apply, no booking required.

200 years after the Peterloo Massacre, artist family Gary, Grace, Hope and Merrick will create and present two new films that will be shown simultaneously at Dunham Massey and Quarry Bank. The films are inspired by questions about protest, rights and responsibilities, freedoms and the power to create change.

Commissioned as part of the National Trust’s People’s Landscapes programme which explores sites where people came together to have their voices heard. Other sites include Kinder Scout, Tolpuddle and the Durham Coast.

An exhibition of the artistic process plus Dunham Massey and Quarry Bank’s stories, research and links to Peterloo will be shown in cabinets at Manchester Central Library as part of the Peterloo 2019 commemoration project.
