So after years of trying I have finally got a place in the London marathon! As those that have known me for years will know this has been an ambition of mine for many years. Having said that at the moment I am a constant mix of fear & excitement 😳😁. 

As so many of you already know as well, Bart and I  suffered the most horrendous loss back in March 2004 when our much loved baby girl, Jessica died at just 6 weeks old. She was born 3 months early and spent the whole of her short live in the neo natal unit of Cardiff hospital. We will forever be grateful for all the staff there and everything they did to try and save her. We will also, always support the work BLISS do across the country supporting neo natal units like this and parents like us. So when I got the magazine to say I had a place for London this year there was never any doubt who I would look to raise money for. 

My training road so far has not been easy and there was a good few weeks around December and early January when I felt like I would have to drop out due to a niggling hip injury but on the 23rd January things changed, firstly I saw a fantastic sports therapist who has worked wonders on the hip and secondly my mental strength took a turn.  That day should have been Jessica’s 15th birthday and that alone gave me the determination and inspiration I needed to drive me on.  

I certainly won’t win it and I may not even do what most would consider a ‘good time’ but I WILL get round and I will tick this off my bucket list 👊🏻👊🏻
